He said said the appointment were justified because he considered capacity of the individual appointees and due process as against parochial sentiments in making the appointments.
"Those so appointed would certainly represent the interest of all who cannot make it.The Presidential Committee could make its input, but the president exercises his discretion for the best interest of the masses," he said.
Eta congratulated the newly appointed members of the NDDC board and urged them to make the development of the Niger Delta region a priority.
The South-south zonal party chairman urged party members to be confident in the ability of the Buhari's leadership to meet their aspirations as party members.
Also commenting on the appointment, the Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution, Chief Obono-Obla applauded the appointments made by President Buhari.
Specifically, Obono-Obla stated that the appointment of Ndoma-Egba to chair the board was as a result of merit, besides that fact that the former senate leader is a member of the board of trustee of the APC.
Obono-Obla stated that contrary to insinuations making the rounds in some quaters, Ndoma-Egba contributed a lot to the success of Buhari during the polls, more so when he challeged the culture of impunity in his former party, a development he stated aided the number of votes garnered by the president in Cross River State, the highest since Buhari started contesting elections to the office of President.
Obono-Obla said with Ndoma-Egba's wealth of experience in the public service, having served as commissioner for works in the state, and senate leader as well as his experience in the private sector where he was Chairman of the Calabar Chamber of Commence Industries Mines and Agriculture (CCIMA), there was no doubts that he will perform creditably as chairman of the NDDC board.
