Two kids and Woman Rescued Alive From Collapsed Building in Kware

A woman and two kids have been rescued from the rubble of the building that collapsed in Kware, Pipeline 

The building collapsed around 10pm on the night of Monday, June 12

Most families were evacuated safely two hours before the building collapsed although it is believed that some got trapped in the building 

 Thedeath toll has since risen to two after a woman who was rescued succumbed to her injurires in hospital 

 Therescue team also retrieved the body of a young boy from the rubble on the night of Tuesday, June 13 On the evening of Tuesday, June 13, the rescue team and the military managed to save two children from the rubble of the building that collapsed in Kware, Pipeline.

The death toll has risen to two after a woman who was rescued succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment.

On the night of Tuesday, June 13, the military an the rescue team retrieved the body of a young boy from the rubble. The team is yet to rescue two more people who are believed to be trapped on the fourth floor of the building. So far, 128 tenants have been accounted for although it is not clear how many people were living in the seven-storey building.

Earlier, there were reports that 15 people could not be accounted for following the collapse of the building. A woman claims that her son and her nephew insisted on finishing their dinner before leaving the building. They are yet to be found. The collapse of the building in Kware comes in the wake of the building that collapsed in Huruma killing 49 people.

Kenyans have called on the government to order for the demolition of the houses that do not meet the threshhold and standards of construction.
