Former Kenyan Genge Artist Laety Passes On

June 2, 2017, 5:07 am

Nothing can prepare one’s heart when it comes to death. As Kenyans got ready to get on their busy lives, the sad news of one of Calif’s pioneer artist’s demise cast a dark cloud.

Former genge artist Laety came into the limelight after a hit collabo with fellow artist Flexx called ‘Namba Yako’ hit the charts. She went on to record other songs before changing her style of music to afro fusion.

Through her friends on social media the sad news broke and the cause of her death is yet to be confirmed.

A close friend by the name Moses Matiba posted:

According to those who last spoke to her, the artist seemed upbeat and in good health hence the shock of her death. Working on her music career comeback, Laety had just released a new song produced by Provoke titled ‘Alamo’ which she dropped a few days ago and was currently promoting.

To make it even more perplexing is the fact that she had just posted a video on her Instagram a day ago dancing.

‘’When your pal catches you off guard dancing!!! @Patt_Tash hehehehehehe!’’ Her last post read.

‘’I only met you yesterday, we did this shoot together and now I hear you are no more. I am lost for words. How do you meet someone today and tomorrow they are gone????? Kaai @laetygram
Rest in peace dear friend, gone so soon.
#Riplaety.’’ Her friend Patt Tash posted a few hours ago.
