April 29, 2017, 5:50 am

Laikipia MP Jane Apollos was declared the Jubilee Party flag bearer despite opposition from her opponents.

Apollos got 17,675 votes against her rival and Nominated MCA Catherine Waruguru who garnered 4,473 votes.

But her opponents protested immediately the results were announced in Nanyuki town.

Waruguru said the exercise was not free and fair, therefore should be cancelled.

"They can delay my certificate but it is absolute that I won," she wrote on her Facebook wall. But Apollos maintained that the exercise was free and fair.
