Another major SCANDAL in NYS sees 2,000 individuals sent home
- NYS has booted over 2,000 recruits after a cartel was discovered in the institution
- The recruits were found to have been illegally admitted and enrolled in NYS programs
It has emerged that there are National Youth Service officials illegally recruiting youth into the service after over 2,000 recruits were given the boot.
In a statement to newsrooms, NYS Director Richard Ndubai revealed that investigations have been launched to find out how these recruits were admitted to the institution.
“Clearly, this is a case of gross impropriety on the part of the persons who aided the fraudulent admission of the young men and woman to NYS vocational training programmes. The beneficiaries are no less innocent either,” said Ndubai.
The major focus of the investigation will be the methods used to enroll the recruits because it is criminal to manipulate their systems
According to the Daily Nation on Monday, February 20, Ndubai added that there are no chances of the recruits being allowed to continue with their training despite having already began.
“To argue that since the recruits are already enrolled and they should be allowed to proceed with their training is formalizing impropriety and abetting a matter that has all the hallmarks of criminal enterprise,” added Ndubai.
He also said that to allow the 2,238 recruits to stay in the programme to prevent them from veering into criminal behavior is a kin to chasing a rodent escaping from a burning house at the expense of saving the occupants.
”NYS is undergoing a comprehensive clean-up at the moment. Nothing will stop the ongoing purge,” continued Ndubai.
To qualify for enrollment, a recruit has to pass three stages to become servicemen. They are paramilitary training, national service and vocation training.
