Bauchi Governor Is Plotting to Force Me Out of APC, Senator Wakili Screams
The senator representing Bauchi South, Senator Ali Wakili, on Monday, alleged that the state governor, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed, is plotting to force him and other elected members of the party out of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Tafawa Balewa Local Government.
The party leadership in a letter dated January 8th, 2017, addressed to the local government party chairman and signed by Markus Silas stated that they have decided to suspend Wakili from the party.
The letter alleged that the senator had committed series of offences inimical to the progress of the party.
"It has come to our notice that Senator Ali Wakili has been organising several political meetings in his house and other places outside the party office with a view to causing factionalisation within the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Lere North Ward and Tafawa Balewa local government area of Bauchi State," it stated.
But Wakili, on Monday, alleged that there are plans by some officials of All Progressives Congress (APC) to expel him and other elected members from the party.
The statement signed by his Senior Legislative Aide, Mohammed Ladan Ahmed, the senator said the plan to expel him and others from the party was being sponsored by the state governor, Mohammed, and the leadership of the party.
He further alleged that the plan to expel him and the others was hatched at the residence of the acting Bauchi South APC Zonal Vice Chairman, Murtala Ibrahim Kundum, and attended by the recently removed Tafawa Balewa APC party chairman, Mijinyawa Hardo.
"The move which has the tacit connivance with the state government, is hinged on the premise that the removed APC chairman together with Dan Malikin Boto will be provided with adequate security details by the state government to storm Bununu town, headquarters of Tafawa Balewa local government area and announce his purported expulsion and Honourable Aminu Tukur, the member representing Lere/Bula in the state House Of Assembly," the statement further revealed.
