'Absence of Tinubu, South West Governors from Ondo Rally Immaterial'
Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, on Monday, said that All Progressives Congress (APC) Leader, Bola Tinubu was not at last Saturday's rally in Akure, Ondo State due to ill health.
Lalong, who is also the Chairman of the APC Governorship campaign committee in Ondo, spoke with State House Correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
He however said that the absence of Tinubu and other southwest governors did not affect the success of the rally.
He said: "Their absence was not a problem, we explained their absence. They sent in their apologies. You heard what happened there. As far as we are concerned, the President who is the leader of the party was at the rally. The national chairman was also there, as far as we are concerned, everybody was there.
"To the party, their absence did not make any difference. If a leader was not there and he has said he was not there because of ill-health, we have prayed that God will heal him."
Lalong said the party had finished its campaign in Ondo.
“We are not in doubt that APC will win the election in Ondo," he added.
He said APC was not scared of any political parties in Ondo rather he said other parties were afraid of APC.
He said: "We have come to thank the President for going to Ondo for the grand finale rally."
